About Women In Defense
Leadership National and Locally
WID and NDIA provide a national collaborative community of advocates who promote policy, technology and best practice for warfighters, peacekeepers, and others who ensure U.S. safety and security • 20 Local chapters provide WID’s grassroots foundation • Located in areas with a high concentration of defense work, WID’s chapters enhance and enrich their communities through strategic networking and educational events, mentoring, scholarship programs and community service.
Goals and Objectives
Provide women with a formal environment for professional growth through strategic networking, education, and professional development • Create educational, coaching, and mentoring opportunities to encourage and enable young women to pursue careers in support of defense and national security.

Membership
We welcome all women and men working in defense and national security to join WID. Membership provides access to a broad national network of women and men working in government, the defense industry and academia.
